New Year's resolutions

1. Get in shape until summer.
Since the beginning of the school leaving exams, and have gone to the gym just couple of times and started to eat very unhealthy. Coming  to the university, different country, another exam period and recent holidays even made it worse. Therefore, I put a good amount of weight.
I don't think it is a disaster, but at the same time bad eating habits and lack of physical activities made me very nervous, dissatisfied and sometimes even depressed. I cannot sleep well and I don't fell happy about myself. In order to fix my mood and self-esteem, I need to start going to eat well and go to the gym again. I have such good facilities to do that  at the uni so why not to use them. I am not completely sure how it is going to work with my studying and working schedules but I will try to make a commitment to workout at least 5 times a week and do not eat very late (since I go to sleep very late almost around 12-1 am every day I believe eating just until 9 pm will be a good decision).

2. Start taking university serious.
As first year undergraduate student, I have spent all the first semester doing nothing (chatting with friends, family, going out or sitting in front of a laptop and watching films). Consequently, the exam period was a disastrous. Don't want to fell the same way again. Need to put myself together and start making my career work. What I will try to do is, first of all, spend more time in the library or studying room. Even though I like studying in my room, it seems not working when I live near the kitchen and hear everyone talking around and hanging out. Sometimes I catch myself feeling guilty of not being with people and missing something. Studying in the library will make my more concentrated. Secondly, I will turn off my phone during the lectures. Since I came to Glasgow, I have felt a need to be in touch with everyone from home 24/7. I spent more than half of the lectures chatting with my friends rather than studying. Therefore, it took me days to catch up with everything before exams. Thirdly, try to do as much as possible every single day, rather than leaving all the reading for the last minute. Plus, make some good notes of he lectures and all the readings. Fourthly, prepare for the tutorials very very very well and precise. Last but not least, ask for help. I am surrounded by so  many smart people who could and want to help me. I need to use that more especially when it comes to learning French. It is always nice to hear and see different techniques of studying and thinking that people from all over the world use. Moreover, university provides so many possibilities to get in touch with tutors, lecturers and other services that might be a good help while studying ( I have to emphasize that University of Glasgow is very good at this point).

3. Get a daily schedule.
I have never had a good sleeping or working routine. That is why I am very stressed most of the time. I believe going to sleep earlier that 12-1 am and waking up before the midday would help me to be more energized and do more through out the day. Moreover, having an hour before the sleep doing think I like would be a good way to calm myself before the bedtime and reward after the day.

4. Read more (for my own pleasure).
I feel that the lees I read the more difficult it is for me to write and express my mind. Moreover, as I get older, I start to feel a need to run away from my own life and get my head busy with other things rather than my own problems.

5. Blog.
I have tried to blog for couple of times now (it might go up to 5 times of so). This time I want it to be more serious. It is always very nice to look back and see what I have done and thought at a particular time in the past. I like to look around my old Facebook post and so on but I feel it is not enough. This time I will try to post more (at least one time a week). I think now I have more to tell then ever. I think new environment, new challenges, new people around my will make some quite nice stories out here.  I hope my writing skills will also improve during this time.

6. Watch more sport.
It is strange how I have changed during these years. From a girl that knew almost everything that was going on in tennis I couldn't even rate the top players in the right way. I want to feel the excitement of watching sport again. I really miss that.

7. Think and stress less.
Nothing much can be added. Make myself as busy as possible to leave less time for thinking nonsense.

Almost the same resolutions as every year. However, these ones seem more like a plan rather than wishes. Fingers crossed.
